LOWER ACADEMY ELECTIVES

LOWER ACADEMY ELECTIVES

VCA students are encouraged to develop skills outside the academic classroom. When we move toward our own creativity, we move toward our Creator. By developing a sense of creative exploration at a young age, VCA students expand their learning capacity and discover new interests. Our loving faculty guides students to develop and display their talents in physical education, music, and visual arts. Our electives are meant to provide the opportunity for students to learn new art and music skills. Our PE classes and Ski Days are included in our school’s curriculum because we believe in the importance of developing the body as well as the mind. Our goal is to encourage our students to be the most well-rounded students they can be.

  • Lower Academy students have Physical Education 4 days a week. Coach J creates and choses games to encourage students according to their ages and abilities. PE time is purposeful, skill-driven and designed to build character within our students.

  • Vail Christian Academy offers art for all grades. Lower Academy students participate in one hour of art each week. Students complete various art projects and lessons throughout the year. The students display their work throughout during the year providing them the opportunity to showcase their creative expression which brings glory to God.

  • Lower Academy students have one-two hours of music class each week. Our music teacher, Worship Pastor JD Webster, teaches VCA students “life” instruments: vocals, drums, guitar and piano. He inspires his students to glorify God with their voices and instruments through worship music.

UPPER ACADEMY ELECTIVES

Because we are made in the image of our Creator, He gives us the ability and desire to practice creativity. The Upper Academy VCA academic experience is complemented by electives carefully designed to ignite creative fires more than just fulfill a requirement. Teachers bring their unique passions into the classroom and develop deep, caring relationships with students through their shared interests. All Upper Academy students have physical education four days a week. Upper Academy students also have the opportunity to choose an additional elective class to further expand their education. These electives change quarterly allowing for different interests to be pursued. Electives offered include, but are not limited to: Chapel Band, Yearbook, Nordic Club, Visual Arts, Student Ambassadors, and more!

“For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
