The Light of the Vail Valley
Our first priority is to introduce your child to the life-giving love of Jesus Christ. We believe a relationship with Christ is the framework for living well. Our staff strives to lead by example, living out that relationship for our students to see and experience.
Being like-minded and bonded by faith, the Board of Directors, staff and volunteers at Vail Christian Academy lead by example; loving, supporting and encouraging each other and the students. We also worship Jesus through song, prayer and our Bible curriculum.
Our Mission
Our Mission at Vail Christian Academy is simple. Loving Christ. Equipping Kids. Being a Light.
Vail Christian Academy is referred to as a beacon of light in our local community and through our service to local and national organizations. VCA shines brightly through our Compassion Projects, O2 Outdoor Education Program, Service Outreach Projects and Ski Days.
When out in the community or service field, staff routinely receives the highest praise about the character and manners of our students. The love of Jesus Christ is shown consistently through our leaders, staff, volunteers and students and most importantly, through their interactions with each other.
We are grounded in a classical tradition of education that equips our children to navigate a changing world in light of unchanging wisdom.
We are committed to meeting families where they are and providing a classical Christian curriculum and higher standards of character. Through accountability and by providing a loving environment for our children to learn, grow and flourish with their peers, our students are given the foundation to communicate effectively, think resourcefully and become responsible leaders who can positively contribute to society.
VCA VALUES
Christ Centered
In all its programs and teaching, Vail Christian Academy is based on these foremost truths from God’s Word: The authority, authenticity, and reliability of the Bible; the sovereignty of God; the creation of man in the image of God; the moral principles of the Bible; the centrality and authority of Jesus Christ and a personal relationship with Him.
Classical Emphasis
We embrace a classical approach to education by incorporating formal classes in Latin, Logic, and Classical Literature. Classical teaching methods range from class lectures, to debates, to Socratic (discussion-oriented) teaching. Independent learning skills are sharpened at all grade levels.
Critical Thinking
Emphasizing concrete thinking and memorization in Lower Academy and analytical thinking in Upper Academy is a time tested method of teaching that helps students master the skills of learning and helps them understand and think, with greater depth, about the world around them.
