Loving Christ. Equipping Kids. Being a Light.
Located in the beautiful Vail Valley in Edwards, Colorado, Vail Christian Academy was founded in 1996. VCA is the only K-8 Christian School serving the Eagle County community and is located on the greater Vail Christian High School campus. VCA offers an academically rigorous program that emphasizes concrete thinking and memorization in grade school and analytical thinking in the middle grades. These skills equip students to master the skills of learning and help them understand and think, with greater depth, about the world around them.
VCA FACULTY
Our teachers and administrators at Vail Christian Academy are passionate about Christian education and raising a generation of well-rounded student leaders. They bring their faith, dedication and individual passions into their teaching and form lasting relationships with their students that long outlive their time as their teachers. VCA teachers pay close attention to the social, emotional, spiritual and academic needs of each individual student, developing lessons and projects that ignite a love of learning more than simply checking a box. Put simply, a good school knows your child by name, a great school knows your child by heart.
“By this all will know that you are my disciples, by the way we love each other.”
John 13:35
VCA CURRICULUM
VCA is the only private Christian K-8 school in Eagle County, and we embrace the freedom this allows. God’s word teaches, “Do not conform to the world, instead be set apart.” Our rigorous, Christ-centered, high-school preparatory curriculum readies students for challenges both in and out of the classroom and sets them apart from the rest of their peers. The VCA experience is enriched by athletics, visual arts, music, electives, after-school enrichment clubs, missions trips, service learning, O2 outdoor education, field trips and Ski Fridays. We believe teachable moments are everywhere, and through our small class sizes, VCA students are known and seen. This allows all aspects of their education and enrichment to be adapted to meet their individual needs. We embrace a classical approach to education. Independent learning skills are sharpened at all grade levels and modified for the individual to match their learning style and interests.
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
Romans 12:2
VCA COMMUNITY
Time and time again, when families in our community are asked, “What makes VCA so special?” the answer is simple, the community. A good school feels like a community; a great school feels like family. VCA is described as a safe haven for students, teachers and families alike, where all are allowed to come as they are and be met with the life-giving love of Christ. VCA students are taught to shine this love by being a light in our community and the nation through missions and service trips. Parents and caregivers are welcome at VCA, encouraged to be on campus, in the classrooms, joining students on field trips and engaging with other parents through our Parent Teacher Fellowship.
“And I have filled him with the spirit of God, with wisdom and understanding and knowledge in all manner of work.”

Kindergarten through 5th Grade
-
I️n Kindergarten, we are experiential learners who learn through joy, fun and a high standard to lay the foundation for education.
-
Building on the foundations laid in Lower Elementary, we work on independence, memorization and study skills. We challenge students where they are to expand their learning experience.
6th through 8th Grade

Upper Academy equips students with the tools to navigate our complicated world, deepening their ownership of ethical and analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills. Intentional class structure and size embrace students' social, emotional and academic growth through early adolescent years.

Our Outdoor Education Program, also known as O2, engages our students in new adventures to foster respect for all of creation and community. Through experiential learning, O2 instills environmental stewardship and confidence in trying new things.

We value music, art and physical education as part of the learning experience. These classes are part of the curriculum for both Lower Academy and Upper Academy students. Upper Academy students explore a obust menu of electives to explore their interests and discover new passions.
