We are beyond excited to share the details of our 1st Annual Vail Christian Academy Ski-a-Thon! This is a school-wide community event at Arrowhead Ski Area on Beaver Creek Mountain where students get to ski, snowboard and snowshoe for Jesus while collecting pledges from family and friends for laps, loops or miles. Centered around strengthening friendships outside in the beauty of God’s creation, the purpose is to build relationships within our VCA community, be a light and tap into our greater community to raise $30,000 to bridge the gap between tuition and annual operating expenses at VCA.
We’re growing! We have K-8 Part-time and Full-time Teaching positions available for the 2021-22 School Year. Please bring completed applications to Mindy Denissen in our main office.
Loving Christ: Being like-minded, and bonded by faith, the Board of Directors, staff , and volunteers at Vail Christian Academy lead by example; loving, supporting and encouraging each other and the students, and worshipping our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in song, prayer and bible curriculum.
Equipping Kids: We are committed to meeting families where they are and providing a classical Christian curriculum and higher standards of character. Through accountability and by providing a loving environment for our children to learn, grow, and flourish with their peers, our students are given the foundation to communicate effectively, think resourcefully, and become responsible leaders who can positively contribute to society.
Being a Light: Vail Christian Academy shines brightly through our Compassion projects, O2 outdoor education program, service outreach projects, and Leadership crew. The love of Jesus Christ is shown daily and consistently through our leaders, staff, volunteers and students.
Christ Centered: In all its levels, programs and teaching, Vail Christian Academy is based on these foremost truths from God’s Word: The authority, authenticity, and reliability of the Bible; the sovereignty of God; the creation of man in the image of God; the moral principles of the Bible; the centrality and authority of Jesus Christ and a personal relationship with Him.
Classical Emphasis: We embrace a classical approach to education by incorporating formal classes in Latin, Logic, and Classical Literature in various stages of our program. Classical teaching methods range from class lectures, to debates, to Socratic (discussion-oriented) teaching. Independent learning skills are sharpened at all grade levels.
Emphasizing concrete thinking and memorization in grade school and analytical thinking in the middle grades is a time tested method of teaching that helps students master the skills of learning and helps them understand and think, with greater depth, about the world around them.
Located in the beautiful Vail Valley in Edwards, Colorado, Vail Christian Academy, (formally The Vail Academy) was founded in 1996 as a ministry of The Vail Church.
